The pioneers of Budgy Smuggler in France

Matt Giteau, Adam Ashley Cooper & Drew Mitchell

The pioneers of Budgy Smuggler in France were the three amigos: Matt Giteau, Drew Mitchell and Adam-Ashley Cooper.

No pants, no problem. Smuggling pioneers Adam Ashely Cooper with the great Thierry Dusautoir, and Smuggling pioneers Matt Giteau and Drew Mitchell arriving in France. Nearly 300 picks and 85 pairs of Budgy Smugglers between them.

The boys arrived in France to play rugby and, as Adam Ashley-Cooper says, “My teammates' reaction to Budgy was 'super good'. It didn't take long for players from almost every club in the Top 14 to contact me about them and it wasn't long before they were sporting Budgy with their own French Flare style.

The French value quality and like to have fun... Budgy Smuggler represents both in one product/brand. I’m not surprised he’s doing well in France.”

It was around this time that we started to see rugby big names like Bryan Habana as well as local players like JB Dubié and Nans Ducuing starting to smuggle with us. They would later become some of the brand's closest friends.

What we love most is that there is a community building around Smuggling... People from all over the world coming together to free their thighs together.

Thank you to everyone who joins us in this mission... and especially to the pioneers in France. We love you !

Love

The Budgy France team
