Swim briefs are still the best cut for swimming, training or doing laps, with less fabric and less drag in the water than trunks or board shorts. It is the brand's original cut, designed as much for performance as for the beach.

All our cuts, including our most heavily printed swim briefs, are suitable for sport: swimming, pool training or ocean swims. This is not a range just for lounging at the beach.

What is the difference between swim briefs and swim trunks?
Swim briefs create less drag in the water and dry faster, making them the best cut for swimming. Trunks give more coverage and are designed more for the beach.

Yes, the fabric is designed to resist chlorine, salt water and long exposure to the sun without losing its shape or colour.

Are swim briefs suitable for swimming in a pool?
Yes. Swim briefs sit close to the body, do not slow you down in the water and dry quickly: they are the swimmer's cut, for doing laps as well as training.

Are swim briefs compulsory in French swimming pools?
In most public swimming pools in France, board shorts are not allowed for hygiene reasons and close fitting swimwear is required. A pair of Budgy Smuggler swim briefs is welcome everywhere.
